More important than ever – but also harder

Radio is a crucial communication medium for farmers. In many settings, its advantages put it way ahead of TV, the internet, or newspapers. The Syngenta Foundation and Kilimo Media International (KiMI) help rural radio stations and local extension officers in Kenya to educate smallholders.

As our latest report shows, the COVID-19 pandemic has made radio info more valuable than ever. At the same time, Kenyan health measures include a night-time curfew. That brings new challenges for stations’ evening transmissions. But KiMI goes marching on and has recently added two stations to the group we serve.
