Cashew nuts

Production and aggregation of value in cashew farming (cashew nuts, pulp, jam, juice, raw sugar snacks, and animal food):

  • six associations,
  • 16 projects: four completed, four underway, and eight in development,
  • 503 families involved,
  • agro-ecological management of cashew trees,
  • amplification of farms involved in the agro-industry and commercialization from 39 to 46, with an average income increase of BRL 200.00 per month per farmer,
  • an increase of 4.2 to 21.1 tonnes of processed cashew (false fruit and net) per year,
  • commercialization to the institutional foods market (school snacks), open-air markets, local stores, restaurants, bars, and hotels.

Bee farming

Production and aggregation of value in bee farming (honey and cosmetics):

  • four associations,
  • 10 projects: two completed (agro-industry) and eight in development,
  • 398 families involved,
  • valuation of the biodiversity of vegetation in the production of honey,
  • amplification of farms involved in the agro-industry and commercialization from 23 to 50,
  • attainment of commercialization record in Brazil and in other countries,
  • increase in the honey processing capacity from 400 to 800 kg/day,
  • average value aggregation of 90% of the sales price of honey in a pouch and pot,
  • commercialization through cooperatives to the institutional foods market (school snacks), open-air markets, local stores.

Chickens

Production of free-range chickens (eggs and chickens):

  • two associations,
  • two projects: one completed and one in development,
  • 34 families involved,
  • average monthly income increase of BRL100.00 per farmer, 
  • agro-ecological management of chicken,
  • improvement in familial food intake,
  • commercialization to the institutional foods market (school snacks), open-air markets.

Fruits and vegetables

Production of agro-ecological fruits and vegetables:

  • one association,
  • one project completed,
  • 52 families involved,
  • average monthly income increase of BRL 70.00 per farmer,
  • improvement in familial food intake,
  • commercialization in a weekly agro-ecological market and in the community.

Commercial activities

Commercialization of fruits, vegetables, and small and medium-sized animals in agro-ecological markets:

  • five associations,
  • five projects completed,
  • 184 families involved,
  • average monthly income increase of BRL 600.00 per farmer/salesperson.

Investments

Resources invested in:

  • training for agro-ecological management, value aggregation and commercialization,
  • 15 projects financed in construction, renovation, and amplification of agro-industries; working capital; communication and marketing; store and market infrastructure for commercialization.
