It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of BT Seshadri, our former Country Director in India.

BT died on June 15th of cardiac arrest, a sequel to contracting the COVID-19 virus. Our thoughts and condolences go to his family.

BT, as he was always known, worked for almost 30 years at Syngenta India and its predecessor companies. He was associated with Syngenta Foundation since 2009 as Country Director and then as the senior advisor since 2013.

His successor as head of our Indian team, Baskar Reddy, says: “BT commanded enormous respect from everyone at the company and the Foundation for his humility and his keenness to help in every situation. For many colleagues, he was the best leader imaginable.”

Robert Berlin, our global Head of Agriservices and Country Programs, adds: “We shall always remember BT for his kindness and exceptional dedication to making this a better world for smallholders.”
