The Syngenta Foundation’s Research and Development team is a dedicated team of scientists and business development experts, both from a public and private sector background. Key areas of expertise are Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), technology and Intellectual Property (IP) transfer, plant pathology, agronomy and crop breeding. We generate products that are accessible, affordable and remunerative to smallholder farmers in developing countries.
We do this primarily by connecting public-sector research with private-sector delivery channels. We focus on three key areas: Public-Private Partnerships for Crop Breeding, Seed Systems Research and Incentive Systems for Sustainable Agriculture. These are aligned to the Foundation’s Seeds2B, Agriservices, and Insurance delivery streams.
